About the event
Registration for our summer offering is now open.
A place, whether physical or figurative, charted on uncharted, can ignite inspiration and illumination. Connecting to a place has the ability to create memories, cultivate meaning and harness community. Las Vegas, known for nightlife, shopping, and gambling, can offer more than the proverbial attractions. For this first We Write LV! creative writing session, we invite you to join us for a summer morning of writing and community at Wetlands Park in Las Vegas, an oasis on “the eastern edge of the valley immersed in nature, wildlife, and art.”
We will investigate “place” by responding to writing prompts, reading examples of stories and poems of place, and exploring the Wetlands Park. There will be time for attendees to explore the Wetlands on their own or in community during a dedicated time in the class. Attendees can participate in any and all the activities that feel comfortable to them. This creative writing session aims to be a safe space to create and share work; it is open to writers of all experience levels and genres.
Please plan on attending for the full 2 hours. The event is free and for adults only. There is no admission fee to enter Wetlands Park.
A second We Write LV! will be offered in late summer, follow us on Instagram to learn more.
